Olive Tree - Tree of Peace - Olea europaea - 4" POT Reviews
26 of 29 people found the following review helpful So far, so good ..., By SCMLA "SoCal Martial Law Alerts" (Los Angeles, CA, USA) - See all my reviews I just received the (very small) olive tree in the mail in very good condition -- it was well-packed in excelsior & there was masking tape over the sides of the 4" pot to keep the soil intact. I planted the tree in an 8.5" ceramic pot with an 1/4" layer of sand over the top of the soil to protect the basil & Italian parsley seeds that I scattered around the base. Then I watered it & set it out on my back porch (southern exposure/full sun) & so now we'll see what happens ... 11/27/07 Out of the 4 live plants that I ordered from this company (1 olive, 1 pineapple, 1 blueberry, 1 banana), the only one that's not suffering AT ALL from transplant shock is the olive tree. And, incredibly, the tree's 2 lone branches (8" & 12") are already starting to show new growth. (Technically it's fall here in sunny Southern California, but we're still having quite warm days -- 70 to 90 degrees F.) So far, so good! 11 of 12 people found the following review helpful Hirt's--a trustworthy seller (Olive tree), By In the Garden (SF Bay Area) - See all my reviews This review is from: Olive Tree - Tree of Peace - Olea europaea - 4" POT The olive tree I received was also quite small (as to be expected for the price). I am not exactly certain how I am going to train this tree because there are two equally-sized tiny branches on a kind of crooked base. Also, it is really taking a long time to get going, but hopefully it will finally take root and take off. Quality product, but just small and taking its time acclimating.Having sad this, however, I must say that I have ordered numerous plants from Hirt's over the last two-three years and have always been pleased with their timeliness and product. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful Thrilled with plants, By Tina-Marie A. Venus (Charlotte, NC United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Olive Tree - Tree of Peace - Olea europaea - 4" POT I ordered three olive plants, and when they were shipped, such care was taken with the packaging. no dirt was spilled, the plants had been watered but no water leaked.
