You will receive 10 Thuja - Green Giant Plants 8-12 inches tall shipped in their Pots. These are the True Thuja Green Giant (Thuja Plicata x Standishii). Fast growing, Once established, expect about 3 feet of growth per year. Uses for wind breaks, Christmas trees, or as a distinctive specimen.
They do great in the South, and have a farther reach North than Leylands. Zone 5 - 8. Will even grow in Zone 4 just not as quickly. They tend to bronze a bit in the winter, but green back beautifully in the Spring.

Some nurseries suggest to soak roots in a bucket or saucer of water before planting some say not too. I would say it depends on how moist the soil they are going to be planted is. I usually put the pot in an inch of water in a saucer and soak for a few hours. Let the water come up through the holes and give the plant a big drink. This is true with any plant, I have found, that has come through the mail and may be dried out when it arrives. Green giants are very sturdy and hard to kill. I have found the first year there is very little growth, but once established they grow fairly quickly as stated in the plants description. As with any plant make sure you buy from someone who will stand behind the product and replace any items that do die. Make sure the seller states they will replace dead or diseased plants. I removed them from the shipping box and immediately watered them and set them in a large container on my porch. Since it's now June I decided to transplant them into larger pots for now and give them time to adjust before I actually plant them in the ground. I'm going to wait till late September since it will be getting hot here very soon and I'm hoping with some extra care and the protection of the screened in porch they will survive. They will receive morning sun till about 10 a.m. and I can move them to the back so they can receive the afternoon sun. Since they are so small I'm trying to give them some more growing time before I put them in the ground. Biggest fear is mowing over them. I'm not disappointed at all.
