The Persian Lime is a heavy bearer of juicy, lemon sized fruit in winter to early spring. This lime variety needs little heat to ripen, making it an excellent choice for backyard plantings or in containers. The limes turn to a pale yellow at full maturity, and have thin, smooth rind. Works great as a patio plant. If you live in a cold climate, just bring it inside during the winter. It produces abundantly indoors or out. Just place it in front of a sunny window and pick fresh fruit throughout the winter. The Persian lime is also known as the Tahiti lime or Bearss lime, is a citrus fruit grown commercially in the U.S. and sold simply as a "lime".

The first tree was a Kaffir Lime, and it is doing well.My Persian lime tree arrived here in Las Vegas 8 days after I ordered it on Amazon. The tree was well packaged and arrived safely via UPS. I uploaded a couple photos of the tree prior to transplanting it so you can see the large amount of dirt the seller includes. I hate having trees mailed bare root and for the price + shipping this tree is a good value. In the second photo you also can see the Kaffir lime I purchased last month from Lemon Citrus Tree. The Kaffir lime was 2-3 years old. This Persian lime is 4-5 years old. As advertised by the seller, the tree is between 3.5 and 4.5 feet tall. The one I received is 46 inches high from the dirt line.
